Welcome and thanks for the interest!
You'll not find sappy sentiment here. That's what "Hallmark" is for.
I would love to hear any and all feedback. I'm a grown woman; I can take thoughtful criticism. Stab me with your rapier wit!

Warrior
11/25/03
|
Warrior from days long past
Your armor has seemed to fail thee.
Fear not.
This is but a part of the battles
Unseen you must endure.
Faith be.
Your strength, engraved in my mind,
Was not from steel or blade.
Believe it.
In dreams, I remember thy heart was pure
And safe and gracious.
Be true.
Strange, unusual Knight, face the future
With open heart and the clear blue eyes to see
What is true and good.

A Poem In Brown Wrapping
01/02/04 |
Couldn't see my wonder
couldn't see with sight
the depth of love and kindness
the sense of knowing right
Thought you'd seen a glimmer
of the woman just below
I thought that you could love me
somehow I thought you'd know
The burning of my passion
the places I would dare
the other senses could provide
you wanted more than what was there
One said I was a poem
but in brown wrapping bound
and you could only see with eyes
my real beauty left unfound
So off to chase the fantasies
and ego satisfied
but when removed their wrappings
no beauty realized
Their shiny perfect packages
grew emptier each day
no poems lied beneath the shells
that once swept you away
So now you're left with unwrapped toys
or have the toys left you?
when beneath sparkly packages
empty vessels' nothing true
The poem did not go unread
thoughtful mind discovered it
and read and savored every word
and found a welcome fit
So if heart's satisfaction
you chase and cannot find
look no longer with your eyes
look you, with heart and mind

Can You Bear
01/12/04 |
The herald told us of your pain
it made my heart beat fast.
To think I knew that One so well
And what was in the past.
Believe, did you, that life would spare
to scar you once again?
When life gave mortal scar to me,
YOU ran away my friend.
Painful, Hollow loss and death
my thoughts to end life's ride.
Your gossamer ego thought twas more than
your friendship by my side.
And after all that happened then<
Still I let trust unfold
was that I needed tender friend
and old soul's hand to hold.
Still all your energy wrapped around
a pretty soul-less face.
Betrayed me then did you, and laughed.
My trust then you erased.
Time long has traveled on since then
Your own loss cuts to the bone.
But you've long lost a friend to care.
Now bear your loss alone.

It Comes Around
01/25/04 |
What hurt your steely heart, old friend?
How strangely it occurs.
Starts slowly, more in focus comes
First clearly, then it blurs.
T'was not the one you thought loved you.
No dazzling Maiden Fair.
But something deep within and tucked
So carefully hidden there.
Karma was it? Was it fate?
Or your turn at the dice?
Hear I,the pain within you now,
Still, this is my advice.
What comes around, goes around
Forever clouds your site.
Find a way to amend and heal.
The wrongs you did, make right.
To know a love, then toss away
A friend's trust twas so true.
That pain you caused to me, my friend
Comes rushing back to you.

Choose
02/07/04 |
Ain't it sick? Ain't it grand?
The way the heart can move the hand
to do the things you should not do.
You cannot help it. Why do you
persist in wishing time turn back?
So many ways the mind attacks.
It won't make sense. It isn't fair.
Too bad you're stuck; black pitch; no air.
The lifeless shuddering in your soul,
where once was joy, now cold dark hole
so deep and blank you can't pull up
to see what's real. Go on? Give up?
A small decision. What will you do?
The coward's way is quick. But you
are too attached to life it seems.
You keep on writing of your dreams
of love, of honor, truth and joy.
Choose wisely next or will destroy
yourself again. This much I knew...
The love you sought, lies within you.
